In this engaging and informative session, you will walk away with a grasp of how to support student’s phonological awareness (the cornerstone of literacy) as well as activities to use in your classroom. We will also reiterate (using research and other forms of documentation) how important the role we play as early childhood educators is in creating young readers and writers!
Ashley Davis has been teaching preK for 5 years at St. Luke’s Day School. As a graduate of the Early Literacy Leadership Academy (ELLA) at Rice University’s School Literacy and Culture Program, she has garnered a wealth of knowledge about the implementation of various developmentally appropriate practices for early childhood development that creates solid foundations in reading. Ashley loves to share this information with everyone and anyone who is willing to listen!
